In addition, he serves on the board of overseers for the NYU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, as chairman of the NYU Science Advisory Board and as a member of the executive board of the NYU Innovation Fund. He also serves as Advisor to the Board at Switchfly. He received a bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics from New York University in 1966 and completed Harvard Business School's program for management development in 1980.
